Every requirement, not the highlights

A rebate is lost on the smallest of these. Check the list against your own house before you plan around the money.

  • Residential air-cooled heat pump under 5.4 tons — mini-split, multi-split, split, or packaged
  • PSE electric customer
  • One unit per residential retrofit project
  • Discount flows from the distributor to the contractor to you — it is not a customer-filed rebate

Who files it, and how the money reaches you

It comes off the equipment price. Nothing to file. The discount flows from the equipment distributor through the contractor into your quoted price, so the only thing to check is that it is actually reflected in the number you were given.

Nothing to file. The discount is passed down the supply chain and appears in your quoted equipment price. Ask us to show the tier your equipment qualifies for.

PSE requires a contractor inside its network

PSE pays this class of rebate only when the work is done by a Trade Ally or Recommended Energy Professional — DIY and out-of-network installations are excluded, however good the workmanship. Ask us to confirm network status for your specific project before you count on the money, and get the answer before you sign anything.

Midstream HVAC Equipment Discount — questions we get

How much does the Midstream HVAC Equipment Discount pay in 2026?
$300–$600. Tier 1 $300 (SEER2 ≥15.2 / HSPF2 ≥8.1, retrofit only) · Tier 2 $400 (SEER2 ≥15.2 / HSPF2 ≥8.5) · Tier 3 $600 (SEER2 ≥16 / HSPF2 ≥9.5). Administered by Puget Sound Energy (with ICF), verified 2026-09-04 against the program's own published terms.
Who files the Midstream HVAC Equipment Discount paperwork?
It comes off the equipment price. Nothing to file. The discount is passed down the supply chain and appears in your quoted equipment price. Ask us to show the tier your equipment qualifies for.
When does the Midstream HVAC Equipment Discount expire?
No published end date. Amounts and deadlines on utility and manufacturer programs change without notice, so we re-check the specific program before a project is committed.
Is the Midstream HVAC Equipment Discount available at a Bellingham address?
Whether this discount can be combined with the $1,500 conversion rebate is unconfirmed: PSE’s conversion page says its rebate "cannot be combined with any other rebates except where noted", while PSE’s heating hub tells customers to ask their contractor. We quote it separately and confirm with a PSE Energy Advisor before counting it toward your total.
