Not sure whether you qualify?

Eligibility on these programs turns on details of your specific house: existing heat type, panel capacity, equipment model, household income, and who does the work. Tell us the address and what you have now and we will tell you which programs are actually in play.

Every requirement, not the highlights

A rebate is lost on the smallest of these. Check the list against your own house before you plan around the money.

  • Site-built home built 1989 or earlier (manufactured homes 2000 or earlier)
  • Existing insulation within the stated depth range — you cannot remove insulation to qualify
  • PSE electric or gas customer using that fuel as primary space heat
  • Installed by a PSE Trade Ally per the PSE Weatherization Specifications Manual

Who files it, and how the money reaches you

Your installing contractor files it. You never see a cheque. The rebate is filed against your project and shows up as a credit on the job, which is why the contractor has to be inside the program network before the work starts.

Applied as an instant rebate at the point of sale. PSE does not pay weatherization rebates to homeowners directly, so the discount has to come off the contractor’s invoice.

PSE requires a contractor inside its network

PSE pays this class of rebate only when the work is done by a Trade Ally or Recommended Energy Professional — DIY and out-of-network installations are excluded, however good the workmanship. Ask us to confirm network status for your specific project before you count on the money, and get the answer before you sign anything.

What it stacks with

Programs that can sit on top of this one, each with its own conditions.

Stacking is a claim about program terms, not arithmetic. We build totals from the programs that have confirmed they combine, and quote anything unconfirmed as a separate line so you are never counting on a number twice.

Weatherization Instant Rebates — questions we get

How much does the Weatherization Instant Rebates pay in 2026?
$0.20–$2.50 per sq ft. Attic R11-or-less → R49 $1.75/sq ft up to $3,500 · wall R0 → R13 $2.50/sq ft up to $5,000 · floor → R30 $2.50/sq ft up to $5,000 · air sealing $0.20/sq ft up to $400 each for attic and floor · duct sealing up to $1,000. Who files the Weatherization Instant Rebates paperwork?
Your installing contractor files it. Applied as an instant rebate at the point of sale. PSE does not pay weatherization rebates to homeowners directly, so the discount has to come off the contractor’s invoice.
When does the Weatherization Instant Rebates expire?
No published end date. Amounts and deadlines on utility and manufacturer programs change without notice, so we re-check the specific program before a project is committed.
Can the Weatherization Instant Rebates be combined with other rebates?
Yes — it stacks with Efficiency Boost (income-qualified multiplier), Community Energy Challenge — moderate income. Stacking is only as good as the program terms in force on your install date, so treat a combined figure as a plan until each program confirms it.
